You just said the opponent hits you with something when you do low forward, counters your stand RH, and rolls through your sonic boom. Daigo's sequence involved the 3 moves I just described. No special corner traps but just good clean play. Try to mix it up if your opponent is taking out those 3 moves of yours. Wait for a roll then counter, wait for a move then forward kick it and etc. And if all else fails, you can go back to your turtle Guile. http://www.shoryuken.com/img/choisig.gif Posted by ElmerPud on 01:03:2001 08:51 AM: thanx choiboy..im starting to get better with offensive..my problem was that i was mindlessly throwing out the roundhouse's and the low forwards etc.. so basically i try to use low forward and low roundhouse to counter pokes and whatnot? i also have a few more questions just out of curiosity when did daigo's guile dash or throw a sonic boom cause i heard he made good use of the dash and he didn't throw that many sonic booms..did he usually throw one after a low forward or a back roundhouse or out random to bait a roll?? did daigo punish rolls with a throw or a normal? sometimes i have problems with characters w/ annoying crossup shorts like beni..what would be the best thing to do in this situation? delay wakeup? flash kick? last one heh...did daigo walk back and forth at all w/ his guile or did he always keep charging for flash kick and boom? sorry for all the long questions but offensive stile just isn't working out for me to great and alot of people think of him as number one in the game but i was having low succes....also just a question about the japenese players in general...did any of them turtle w/ characters...thanx for your time and sorry for this ugly long post It seems that it's cool to be angry about nothing these dayz, I guess that's why I'm not cool :-/ http://www.gsarchives.com/neogeo_sprites/MetalSlug/MarcoHG_slashingsoldier.gif Posted by ChoiBoy on 01:03:2001 01:54 PM: Daigo walked back a lot to get a slow SB and try to follow it up. He would dash to achieve the desired distance and would also dash forward time to time to surprise opponents who were trying to close in on him. He punished rolls with low jab and forward usually. Delayed wakeup is a very good choice to use against all characters with good crossups. You can also try rolling away. Daigo walked back and forth a lot and rarely charged for a FK. http://www.shoryuken.com/img/choisig.gif Posted by ElmerPud on 01:04:2001 12:47 AM: thanx alot for your response...now i think i'm understanding him more...cause i would usually charge for sonic boom or FK almost all the time...but without flashkick did he usually use low feirce as anti-air?? also did he constantly go for crossup short?? thanx a bunch It seems that it's cool to be angry about nothing these dayz, I guess that's why I'm not cool :-/ http://www.gsarchives.com/neogeo_sprites/MetalSlug/MarcoHG_slashingsoldier.gif Posted by Coy on 01:04:2001 10:19 AM: quote: Originally posted by ElmerPud: ...but without flashkick did he usually use low feirce as anti-air? I already asked him that in the past, and he told me thet Daigo does Low Fierce or Roll out when somebody jumped in. I also from time to time jump against the oponent with jumping Fierce (it's a good thing to surprise the oponent and doing something they're not expecting), but mainly I think that you should stay with what Choi said "roll and low fierce most of the time". I hope this helps. I'm trying Guile a lot since he (and Charlie) has always been my favorite character, and I'll discuss later with Choiboy about how is my Guile going (on what should I concentrate most, what did Daigo uses or abuses the most, or some help on how to use dashes, etc) but I want to test Guile really deeply before doing so (I'm actually playing him A LOT). So keep an eye open in the next days/weeks when I ask his opinion on some more things about Guile. And Choiboy, Good luck on The Van Nuys Tourney!!!!
